Avangard continues to work on implementing ESG principles in the activities of the management company
Since last year, together with the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of the Russian Federation, the management company has been actively working in this area. The Avangard SEZ is an experimental zone for achieving carbon neutrality. Also, this year, the employees of the management company have undergone advanced training under the educational program on ESG.
Currently, an ESG audit of the management company of the Avangard special economic zone is being carried out under the guidance of experts from the Association of Clusters, Technoparks and SEZs of Russia.
Timofey Buneev, head of the International Cooperation and Sustainable Development department of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of the Russian Federation:
“The special economic zone is one of the experimental ones for achieving carbon neutrality, which was reported to the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Gennadyevich Reshetnikov at the expert council this year. The special economic zone took part in the ESG rating and non-financial reporting has been prepared since this year. Today, my colleagues from the Avangard SEZ and I continue to work on developing a sustainable development strategy.”
Viktor Sobolev, CEO of the Avangard SEZ:
“This year, we plan to fully implement the principles of sustainable development in the activities of our management company. In accordance with the methodology proposed to us by the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks and SEZs of Russia, our goal and further task is to disseminate the principles of sustainable development among our residents and other enterprises. The Governor of the Omsk Region previously set a task for the Ministry of Economic Development of the Omsk Region to achieve the goal of sustainable development for the entire region. Therefore, we will consider that our Avangard special economic zone is a pilot project for the Omsk Region in terms of implementing ESG principles.”
