Resident of the SEZ “Avangard” and OmSTU will train personnel for the metallurgical industry
Gazpromneft-Grafitek and Omsk State Technical University are launching a new bachelor’s degree program “Machines and equipment for the processing of carbon materials” on the basis of the department “Technological machines and equipment”. The educational program will start in September 2023.
Students will study the specifics of the production of graphite electrodes, gain knowledge in the field of mechanics, chemistry, modern computational methods in this area. A number of specialized disciplines will be taught by Gazpromneft-Grafitek experts.
“Metallurgy is one of the key industries in the country, and the demand for qualified specialists in this area is very high. Therefore, the training of future engineers of this profile is a serious contribution to the successful development of the entire Russian economy. The new direction of the undergraduate program provides for 15 state-funded places. I hope that the new model of cooperation with OmSTU will show high efficiency both for our enterprise and the university, and for the entire industry as a whole,” said Alexander Panov, Director General of Gazpromneft-Grafitek.
“The Technical University has a successful experience of interaction with industrial enterprises in the field of personnel training. Jointly developed educational programs from the beginning of training allow students to gradually enter the professional environment. Such integration of science and business helps them master the whole range of knowledge, skills and competencies necessary for the employer. Cooperation with Gazpromneft-Grafitek will allow us to effectively solve this problem and provide various areas of the Russian economy with practice-oriented personnel,” said Dmitry Maevsky, rector of OmSTU.
