The government approved the development strategy for the Siberian Federal District
To attract private investment in the economy of the Siberian Federal District, a cluster type will be used. This format is provided for by the long-term strategy of social and economic development of the Siberian Federal District approved by the government.
As part of the first stage of 2023-2025, it is planned to implement the most developed investment and infrastructure projects that are in high readiness, including those approved by the Prime Minister of Russia for further development within the framework of the institution of supervision of federal districts by vice-premiers.
At the second stage in 2026–2030, the focus will be on transforming the socio-economic development of the Siberian Federal District.
At the third stage, in 2031-2035, the transformation of the regional economies is expected, reaching a higher level of self-sufficiency, reducing the share of budget investments in investment projects.
The strategy scenario assumes the implementation of investment projects in eight industrial clusters:
“Forest, timber processing and wood chemistry”;
“Aluminum processing”;
“Precious Metals”;
“Non-ferrous and rare earth metals”;
“Tourism”;
“Agriculture and food industry”;
“Oil and gas”;
“Coal”.
Under such a scenario, by 2030 it will be possible to talk about creating more than 500 thousand new jobs in the regions of Siberia and attracting more than 16 trillion rubles of investments.
It is expected that the projects will start reaching their declared capacity from 2026, and their full deployment is scheduled for 2030-2035.
