The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia has developed a resolution on the peculiarities of the functioning of SEZs in adjacent territories

The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has developed a draft resolution on the peculiarities of the functioning of free economic zones (FEZs) in adjacent territories, which will allow regions to independently resolve many issues and customize the work of border SEZs to meet territorial needs.
The document provides for the procedure for determining boundaries, that is, regions will be able to submit an application to the Ministry of Economic Development to extend the SEZ regime to their territories. Next, the Ministry will evaluate applications and prepare draft Government resolutions, which will indicate cadastral numbers of plots and types of activities, plots not included in the SEZ regime.
Let us recall that on June 22, 2024, Vladimir Putin signed a law granting the status of free economic zones to border regions (http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/document/0001202406220006?index=23).
