Export is a system. We prove it in practice
The fifth and final module of the “Export Boost” program concluded in Omsk. Our Deputy General Director for SEZ Development, Mikhail Derevyanko, acted as an expert trainer to help participants translate theory into practical contracts.
International exhibitions are not tourism, and negotiations are not improvisation. The final training focused on tools that directly impact a company’s profits.
🔍 What we covered in the module:
✔ Preparing and conducting international negotiations.
✔ Effective communication techniques in export transactions.
✔ Product presentation and the “10-second rule.”
✔ Preparing for and following up on exhibitions.
✔ The 4P model and the specifics of promoting in foreign markets.
Key insights that participants took home:
– 70% of an exhibition’s success is preparation. Without scheduled meetings, a clear goal (agent, distributor, or a one-time contract?), and a tailored presentation, your participation is just expensive tourism.
– You only have 10 seconds. That’s exactly how long it takes to interest your partner. Who are you, what do you produce, what market are you looking for? Just the essence, no long monologues.
– The 48-hour rule. If you don’t contact a contact within the first 1-2 days after the exhibition, the likelihood of a deal plummets. The exhibition is the starting point for negotiations, not their conclusion.
“Export Boost” is about how to eliminate chaos, reduce risks, and start acting professionally. Thank you to the participants for your work!
