Omsk and Fuzhou Strengthen Partnership Ties in Youth Policy and Culture
On August 29, in the sister city of Fuzhou (Fujian Province), working meetings were held between representatives of Omsk, the Fuzhou administration, and the local business community. The visit was a return event after the recent visit of the Chinese delegation to Omsk to celebrate City Day.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Fuzhou municipality, including Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Office Zhang Wei, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Literary and Artistic Circles Li Pu, as well as heads of industry associations and business circles.
Mikhail Derevyanko presented the investment potential of the Omsk Region and noted: “This year, Omsk received the honorary title of the youth capital of Russia, and next year it will become the cultural capital of our country. These statuses create the best opportunities for expanding cooperation with our sister city of Fuzhou.”
During the negotiations, the parties reached specific agreements:
· Holding an online chess tournament between the youth of Omsk and Fuzhou in 2026
· Organizing a drawing competition among young artists of the two cities
· Inviting a delegation of entrepreneurs from Fuzhou to the Made in China exhibition in Omsk
· Developing trade and economic projects between enterprises of the two regions
Particular attention was paid to the presentation of the investment potential of the Omsk region and the possibilities of the Avangard special economic zone. Chinese partners showed significant interest in developing economic cooperation with the Omsk region.
The visit strengthened the sister city ties between the cities and identified specific areas of cooperation for 2026.
