Omsk and Manchuria discussed expanding cooperation on the sidelines of the Russian-Chinese forum
A bilateral meeting of representatives of the sister cities of Omsk and Manchuria was held within the framework of the investment forum “China (Inner Mongolia) – Russia” in Hohhot.
Mikhail Derevyanko, Deputy Director General of the Avangard SEZ, took part in the meeting from Omsk. Manchuria was represented by the city’s mayor Yue Guodong (岳国栋).
During the talks, the parties discussed specific steps to further expand partnership in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
The key topics were the development of transit corridors, increasing the volume of mutual deliveries of agricultural and industrial products, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the field of education and culture.
“Manchuria is our key partner in China and the most important “gateway” for Omsk enterprises to enter the Asian markets. The Avangard Special Economic Zone is ready to offer Chinese investors unique conditions for implementing projects. Today we agreed to intensify work on filling our partnership with new, practical projects,” said Mikhail Derevyanko.
Manchuria Mayor Yue Guodong emphasized the historical role of his city as the largest land port on the border of China and Russia and expressed interest in increasing trade turnover with the Omsk Region.
The parties agreed to continue a working dialogue to work out the agreements reached.
