Public non-financial reporting of the Omsk Region Government for 2024.
Omsk Region became the first region in Russia to adopt a comprehensive strategy for ALL 17 SDGs approved by the UN General Assembly in 2015.
More information on the region’s non-financial reporting can be found on the Government’s official website. Here are just a few key indicators for 2024: 🔽
Goal: Ending poverty everywhere ➡️ The poverty rate in the region has dropped to 9.1%, the lowest since 2014.
Goal: Healthy lifestyle and well-being ➡️ In 2024, a new clinic was opened in the village of Vostochny, six outpatient cancer centers were launched, and 372 air ambulance flights were made to provide medical care even in the most remote areas.
The goal is high-quality lifelong education ➡️ More than 87% of children are enrolled in supplementary education! 100% access to preschool education has been achieved!
Sustainable development is a triune system: economy, society, and the environment, where each of the 17 approved goals is part of a unified whole. Our report covers a wide range of indicators, from poverty alleviation to global partnerships, and demonstrates how the Omsk Region is contributing to achieving the SDGs.
Deputy Chairman of the Omsk Region Government Andrey Shpilenko noted that the 2024 non-financial reporting is a starting point that will allow us to assess progress towards achieving the SDGs in the coming years.
