SEZ “Avangard” takes part in the International Forum on Sustainable Development 2025
Today, the International Forum on Sustainable Development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries opened in Omsk. This significant event brought together representatives of various organizations, including employees of the Avangard Special Economic Zone.
The forum discussed key topics such as the transition to a low-carbon economy, ESG rating, and green development. The event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, the Association of Clusters, Technology Parks, and SEZs, and the Government of the Omsk Region.
2025 has been declared the Year of Sustainable Development within the SCO, and the Omsk Region is actively working to achieve its goals, taking into account modern challenges. The region is demonstrating rapid development and an integrated approach to issues of a sustainable future.
The Avangard Special Economic Zone plays an important role in the implementation of environmentally sustainable initiatives and acts as an experimental platform for achieving carbon neutrality. Viktor Sobolev, Director General of the SEZ, presented a report at the panel session “Green Development of Regions: Low-Carbon Strategies and Plans for Adaptation to Climate Change”.
“We have already developed a residency policy, passed an ESG audit and prepared a sustainable development report for 2024,” Viktor Yuryevich noted. The Avangard management company plans to continue active work in this direction, striving for a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.
