The application for the creation of a special economic zone “Avangard” in Omsk will go to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation in the near future

The regional authorities expect that more than 600 new jobs in the chemical and petrochemical industries will appear in the special economic zone.
The government portal “Omsk province” reported that the governor Alexander BURKOV signed an application to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation for the creation of a special economic zone “Avangard” in the Soviet district of Omsk. The Governor’s signature was the last step in the preparation of the package of documents. Within a week, the documents will be sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation for approval.
The special economic zone will specialize in the chemical and petrochemical industries and related industries. The authorities of the region concluded agreements of intent with potential residents and formed a roadmap for the development of the Avangard SEZ for the next decade – 2021–2030. The volume of investments in fixed assets for projects to be implemented in the Avangard SEZ should amount to about 22 billion rubles. The implementation of the projects will allow, according to the plans of the authorities and residents, to create more than 600 new high-tech jobs.
