The development of industrial tourism was discussed in Omsk

The first working meeting took place on the formation and development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Omsk Region, representative of the Omsk Region to the Government of the Russian Federation, head of the regional team for the development of industrial tourism Andrey Shpilenko.

Last year, a regional team for the development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region submitted a collective application, took 3rd place in the ranking of team applications and began training within the framework of the All-Russian educational program “Open Industry”. After training and defending their projects, the working group participants will master a new profession – “Industrial Tourism Development Specialist” and receive a state-issued certificate of additional education.

During the working meeting, the team leader and curators discussed organizational issues, determined the schedule of strategic and pitch sessions with working group members, as well as the progress of practical homework on educational modules.

Thus, the first strategic session will take place on February 2. At it, a team, which includes specialists from industrial enterprises, executive authorities, municipalities, public organizations and unions, representatives of universities, tour operators and guides, will discuss the industrial tourism ecosystem of the Omsk region and define their roles.

During the next working meetings, participants will visit the industrial enterprise “Omsk Rubber” (Titan group of companies), where they will learn in practice how industrial excursions are conducted, and also discuss industrial excursion routes possible for implementation in the region.

On February 29, 2024, as part of the on-site internship of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia under the Federal Practice program, representatives of the regional team will share with representatives of regional executive authorities in industry and the business community their developments and plans for the development of industrial tourism in the Omsk region.
