Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Titan Group of Companies Mikhail SUTYAGINSKY spoke at EEF 2023 about the development of intersectoral cooperation in the industry
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Titan Group of Companies Mikhail Sutyaginsky made a report at the business session “Oil and gas refining: the engine of economic growth” of the Eastern Economic Forum.
During the discussion, business and government representatives discussed the competitiveness of Russian oil and gas processing projects, import substitution in the industry, the formation of effective petrochemical clusters and the development of inter-industry cooperation ties.
Experts agreed that in order to comprehensively address the issue of import substitution and further development of the industry, a systematic approach is needed – providing a raw material base and human resources, developing inter-industry cooperation, state support for the implementation of anchor projects in the industry and social infrastructure in the territories of presence.
In terms of developing production cooperation, the Titan Group of Companies in Omsk, on the basis of the Avangard SEZ, is implementing a number of projects that involve deep processing of petrochemical raw materials for the production of import-substituting products. In the Pskov region, in the Moglino SEZ, work continues on the construction of a multifunctional complex for the production of polyethylene terephthalate, fibers, films and non-woven materials. The first part of the project – the production of BOPET film – was put into operation in December 2022.
In his speech, Mikhail Sutyaginsky also emphasized the need to include the scientific community in cooperation. Today, the Titan Group of Companies is creating an engineering center based in Omsk – this is a structural unit that, in addition to the tasks of developing and implementing modern technologies, will allow us to work with the country’s leading scientific institutes and production sites, as well as to systematically approach the issues of training personnel for the chemical industry.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Titan Group of Companies Mikhail Sutyaginsky:
– Today in Russia conditions are being created for the development of small-scale chemistry, we see that an effective dialogue is emerging between all interested parties – business, government, and the scientific community. To develop production of small- and medium-tonnage chemicals, it is necessary to invest in human resources, new technologies, R&D, create scientific clusters and technological innovation centers, but most importantly, it is necessary to provide conditions for stimulating the consumption of these products in the domestic market and propose measures to form the industry’s personnel reserve
