Plans and prospects for the development of the SEZ “Avangard”
On August 28, Viktor Sobolev, General Director of JSC “Avangard” Special Economic Zone of Industrial and Production Type, gave an interview to the regional television channel OmskTV.
During the interview, Viktor Sobolev explained the main provisions of Federal Law 116-FL “On special economic zones in the Russian Federation.” He told about the requirements for residents, their projects, development plans and current achievements of the “Avangard” Special Economic Zone.
Special attention was paid to the advantages of the “Avangard” SEZ, as well as environmental issues.
Less than a year has passed since the registration of the “Avangard” SEZ, however, according to Viktor Sobolev, in addition to the main anchor residents, there are already about eight companies showing interest in the Special Economic Zone and with which negotiations are currently underway on the placement of production and logistics projects in the SEZ.
Among potential applicants, there are enterprises with complex projects with phased commissioning of capacities, but there are also applicants who are ready to launch a small factory in 1-2 years.
The issue of creating new jobs was also mentioned upon. Only anchor residents according to business plans plan to create about eight hundred new vacancies. And do not forget that during the construction of production facilities and infrastructure, work will also be found for Omsk contractors, small business representatives who will build communications and structures, provide SEZ residents with goods and services in the process. According to preliminary estimates, the number of jobs created, both permanent and temporary, can amount to several thousand.
