SEZ Avangard resident Gazpromneft-Graphitek and Omsk State Technical University are expanding their partnership program

Gazpromneft – Grafitek and Omsk State Technical University are expanding cooperation in training highly qualified specialists for the metallurgical industry. The parties signed a corresponding agreement.
The first joint project was the launch of a new undergraduate profile “Machines and equipment for processing carbon materials” based on the department “Technological machines and equipment”. The educational program started in September 2023. Students will be trained in graphite electrode production technologies, including the specifics of using these components in the steel industry, quality monitoring, and working with automated equipment. A number of specialized disciplines will be taught by Gazpromneft-Graphitek experts.
Alexander Panov, General Director of Gazpromneft-Graphitek:
“Omsk State Technical University is one of the leading universities in the Omsk region and a reliable partner in terms of scientific research. The new agreement provides for the expansion of cooperation and the implementation of projects to train personnel in demand in the metallurgical industry. The university offers everything for organizing a high-quality educational process – experienced teaching staff, the latest equipment and modern laboratories. I am confident that students will receive fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are necessary for further professional development.”
Vasily Fefelov, and. O. Rector of Omsk State Technical University:
“The cooperation between Omsk State Technical University and Gazpromneft-Graphitek began relatively recently. Already this year, we jointly carried out the first intake of students for the profile “Machines and equipment for processing carbon materials” – 15 students entered our university. As part of their studies, they will become familiar with production processes and equipment for processing carbon materials and creating graphite electrodes, and will gain knowledge in the field of mechanics, chemistry, and modern computational methods in this area. Our partnership will definitely continue to develop; new interesting projects and undertakings await us.”
