The best investment projects in Siberia by the end of 2023 have been named
Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko held a meeting with the heads of Siberian regions on the implementation of major investment projects in the Siberian Federal District.
In 2021, on behalf of the Chairman of the Government Mikhail Mishustin, a mechanism for supervision of federal districts was introduced to ensure monitoring of the dynamics of socio-economic development of the regions.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, 41 projects have been selected on the territory of the Siberian Federal District. Both the specific contribution of projects and the overall dynamics of the development of regional economies are assessed. According to Victoria Abramchenko, the economic development of a particular region is assessed by four key indicators: the growth of private investment, household income, output of goods and services, as well as the increase in the number of jobs.
“Preliminary implementation results indicate good dynamics. Compared to the base year 2020, the growth of private investment in the district was 132.4%, and the growth in personal income was 109.8%. The number of jobs in the Siberian Federal District increased by more than 600 thousand, reaching 7.6 million. By January 1, 2024, thanks to the implementation of projects in Siberia, 942.2 billion rubles of private investment were attracted, almost 17 thousand new jobs were created,” noted Victoria Abramchenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the top 5 most significant projects for the development of the district that have been implemented to date.
Among them is a project for the development of the all-season resort “Manzherok” in the Altai Republic. The project attracted 21.5 billion rubles of private investment to the republic, thanks to which 800 new jobs were created. The resort, opened in December 2023, became a laureate of the Russian Mountains national award.
The next one is a project of the Tomsk region, which is aimed at the formation of a hub multimodal transport and logistics center “Sibirsky”. In October 2023, the first stage of the center, which is the largest in Siberia, was launched. By 2024, the volume of freight traffic will reach 8.4 million cubic meters per year, which will increase the capacity of the Trans-Siberian Railway and speed up the delivery of imports from the Far East. 8 billion rubles of private investment have already been invested in the project, 98 new jobs have been created.
Another logistics project is being implemented in the Omsk region – the Solnechny logopark. The first phase opened in November 2023. This is a distribution center of the Pyaterochka retail chain with an area of 30 thousand square meters. m. By 2025, it is planned to launch 4 autonomous distribution centers with a total area of 195.5 thousand sq. m. m. The project will improve logistics within the region and ensure the development of interregional logistics potential. The investments made amounted to 3.4 billion rubles.
A polymer plant is being built in the Irkutsk region. The facility was included in the federal guide to industrial tourism. This is the first and largest polyethylene production plant in Eastern Siberia, provided with its own raw materials. The volume of production by 2026 will be 650 thousand tons per year. Simultaneously with the plant, housing for 3 thousand employees and social infrastructure facilities are being built. 217.7 billion rubles have already been invested in the economy. Almost 3 thousand new jobs were created.
In the Altai Territory, in August 2023, a dairy complex for 2.8 thousand dairy herds was opened. By the end of 2024, the annual volume of milk production will reach 35 thousand tons, ensuring an increase in the production of milk raw materials at the regional level by more than 5% and the replacement of about 15% of raw materials purchased in other regions. The volume of investments made in the project amounted to 5.9 billion rubles.
