The responsibility of regional authorities to business will be enshrined in law, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy Murat Kerefov

The authorities are preparing amendments to the law on investment activities (39-FZ). In terms of support for companies and guarantees for business, the document has remained virtually unchanged since its adoption in 1999. Now it needs to be updated taking into account government initiatives and regional practices. Deputy Minister of Economic Development Murat Kerefov spoke about this.

One of the most important amendments will concern the investment declaration, he noted. This is, in fact, a public commitment of the head of the subject to business, explained the deputy head of the Ministry of Energy. The document guarantees that business conditions will not deteriorate while a certain investment project lasts. According to Murat Kerefov, now the declaration is of a recommendatory nature for regional authorities.

He added that they plan to introduce amendments to the State Duma in the spring session. As the Deputy Minister recalled, the declaration is one of the five elements of the regional investment standard, which will become the basis for innovations.
